We are building the independent professional body for the people who deliver cold therapy, and the schools that train them.
From elite recovery to high street studios and back gardens, cold therapy is everywhere. The equipment and the water are increasingly well governed. The people delivering it are not.
The UK already has bodies for the kit and the water. Nobody owns the human side: the practitioner deciding whether a nervous beginner is safe to enter four degree water. That is our territory. We govern the people, not the plumbing, and we complement the facility bodies rather than compete with them.
We are not a method, and we do not sell training. Closed, single owner models do good work, but the only way in is to train with them.
The CTA is the opposite: one independent standard that any competent practitioner can meet, whatever school they came through. A body that sells no training competes with no one, which is exactly what keeps it fair.
A clear competency and safety framework for the safe delivery of cold therapy.
Register practitioners and instructors, and recognise the courses that train them.
A unifying, independent voice for a fragmented and fast growing field.
Help the public practise cold exposure safely, and choose a reputable practitioner.
Practitioners and instructors who want their competence recognised. Training providers who want their courses quality assured. Facilities, insurers and the public who want a mark they can trust.
We are building the CTA now, and looking for founding members, training partners and independent voices to help shape it. If that is you, we would like to hear from you.
Contact address is a placeholder for now. Swap in the real CTA email once it is set up.
